Date Rage1876-1915DescriptionMaori Hill was proclaimed a borough in 1876 under the Otago Municipal Corporation's ordinance. A year later it adopted the Municipal Corporations Act and in 1915, after a ratepayers poll, amalgamated with the Dunedin City Council. Maori Hill was a mix of suburban and rural with a small population, spread over 3700 acres, including parts of Wakari, Leith Valley and Woodhaugh.
